Graduate Internship - Business Development Executive

We are seeking to appoint a graduate Business Development Executive to join our team, partnering with the Alphas Internship scheme.

 

Alphas is part funded by the European Regional Development Fund and delivered by the University of Northampton and the University of Bedfordshire.

ALPHA’s Graduate internships offer the opportunity to any graduate from any UK or EU University within the last 5 years to apply.

This internship will run initially for a maximum of 400 hrs, which is approximately 3 months full time or a maximum of 6 months part-time, after which it will be reviewed.
Silver Jet is a Marketing agency that specialises in data driven activities and communications. We use customer data to understand behaviours and motivations, then use this insight to develop customer journeys that enhance their overall experience with a business or organisation.

For this initial period, we are looking for someone who can develop, test, amend and release a repeatable business development process that we can use to attract new clients, which can be used/adapted by different people in the business regardless of their natural ability or skill level. Understanding the business propositions is key, along with developing the supporting documentation and templates that will facilitate the process.

Measure of success

Prove the efficacy of the process through securing a new client and demonstrating that business personnel are able to understand and confidently use the finalised process and supporting resources.

Duties and responsibilities

1. Be fully appraised with Silver Jet’s proposition and service offerings through a combination of training and self-directed learning.

2. Be familiar with existing information held on known customer segments, profiles and target markets.

 

3. Challenge assumptions and gaps in customer profiling.

4. Map/document Silver Jet’s service offerings to customer profiles to identify Sales scenarios/pathways

5. Map/document a sales process that includes (but not exclusively):

  • Call research processes

  • The creation of product literature for customer information advances in the sales process, what they are and how to ask for them

  • Creation and maintenance of sales scripts and guidance for Silver Jet’s personnel Sales pipeline record-keeping process

  • Test and report on the efficacy of the newly developed process and associated documentation at every stage with a commitment to continuous improvement

 

Skills and experience

  • Enjoys researching topics

  • Ability to accurately present information and record keeping in plain English

  • Process orientated and organised

  • Confident telephone manner

  • Comfortable with basic productivity software

  • Looking to make a difference

  • Happy to challenge or be challenged

Flexible start & finish times


Contract length of 400 hours worked over 3 months full time or 6 months part time

Pay is £11.50 per hour
